Event Description

 Abstract

Agile has gone mainstream. Many companies have adopted Agile frameworks and practices for different project efforts with fantastic results. Yet, for the majority of these efforts, Agile adoption at the enterprise level has been slow primarily due to when and how do you scale Agile adoption.

How do you scale past small teams? At what point does traditional Scrum break? What about alternative frameworks like Kanban? Do we leave engineering practices from eXtreme Programming behind?

This presentation covers the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and explains how the framework not only scales to the enterprise level, but also depicts a supporting organizational model that works collaboratively for 100’s of people on a single (or multiple) Enterprise initiative(s).

Agile does scale and SAFe is how to do it.

Our speaker

Kim Werner (yes, he's a guy!) will be telling us about SAFe Agile Framework. He is a Certified SAFe SPC Program Consultant,

His Bio
Agile Community of Practice Lead Practitioner
25 years IT experience in all roles

Mr Werner is available to us by Blue Mercury Consulting (BMC) which is an Agile Services company specializing in enabling our customers to adopt Agile practices and deployment throughout the enterprise. Our engagement model focuses on organizational change, process adoption, and technology enablement through a variety of tools that enable the Agile process Frameworks employed. Unlike other firms, we take a pragmatic adoption approach as opposed to a cookie cutter purest approach.

In the audience will be a couple of people who have been doing SAFe for quite a while, so I hope to pick their brains during the Q&A.
