Agile Philly ran a pilot Mentoring program for the past few months. Feedback has been positive. Mentees have gotten an outside perspective of their challenging situations with ideas to grow and overcome their obstacles. Mentors have honed their leadership and coaching skills.
Now we're ready to expand beyond the pilot. The program will continue to be informal (minimal guidelines), at no cost to mentees and no revenue to mentors.
To expand the pilot, we are accepting volunteers, focusing on Mentees (someone who wants to be mentored).
Volunteering Mentees (getting mentored): We want you!! We have fewer mentee volunteers than mentor volunteers. If you would be interested in being mentored, please send mail to AgilePhillyCoordinators@yahoogroups.com with Subject "Mentee". Please provide an overview of your situation along with what you hope to gain from the program so that you can more easily be matched with someone experienced in the area you're interested in. Also, include your location (so we can pair people who are reasonably close so they can meet in person if both parties want to do so) and your job role.
Volunteering Mentors (giving mentoring): In the pilot, we received many more mentor volunteers than mentees. While we have mentors who are waiting in the wings for their first mentee, we will also accept additional volunteers to be a mentor. If you want to join the list of available mentors (or just want to confirm you are on our mentor list) please mail to AgilePhillyCoordinators@yahoogroups.com with Subject "Mentor". If you are volunteering as a mentor for the first time, please provide your qualifications / background so you can be more easily matched with someone looking for your experiences. In your response, provide your location (so we can pair people who are reasonably close so they can meet in person if both parties want to do so) and your job role (e.g. Agile Coach, Product Owner, Scrum Master, etc.)
