HORROR STORIES

 Tuesday, August 2, 2016
  6:00 PM

at

 PromptWorks
 1211 Chestnut Street Suite 400
 Philadelphia, PA

We all aspire to create well-crafted code . . . but we are also human and make mistakes. For the Tuesday, August 2nd summer party, we are looking for six speakers to give 10 minute lightning talks about a time when things didn't go as planned and how others can avoid these mistakes. Never given a talk before? This is a great place to start! Tell us about a time you:

  • created unmaintainable code
  • prematurely optimized
  • introduced a performance bug
  • picked the wrong technology for the job
  • accidentally bricked production

Help others learn from your experience. Bonus points for hilarity and humility :)

If you are interested in presenting, please drop a few sentences on Philly Dev Slack in the #software-as-craft channel or email sarah.eliz.gray@gmail.com. Lightning talks will be selected by Tuesday, July 19th. We look forward to hearing your war story.

  6:00p - Food, Lightning Talks
 6:30p - Presentations

 (Schedule may change)

Thanks to PromptWorks for providing the space and buying food
