Event Description

Agile & Organizational Transformation: Creating Optimal Conditions for Sustainable Agility

Getting a few projects to use agile practices can be challenging, but it is not nearly as hard as it is to get an entire organization to change from a waterfall culture to an agile one.

Ken France will present key organizational transformation practices that have helped many of our clients successfully adopt agile, not just as a project methodology, but as an organization-wide philosophy.

The biggest impediments to going agile are changing culture, fighting town hall, educating practitioners, proving an ROI for agile, increasing collaboration, and getting real resource commitment. Join us to discuss reusable practices to overcome these recurring obstacles, that have worked well for our other clients.

You will learn reusable organizational change practices including:

  • Repeatable Change,
  • Skill Growth Gamification,
  • Communities of Practice,
  • Process Improvement Requests (PIRs),
  • Executive Sponsorship,
  • Pilot Projects, and
  • Coaching.

BIO of Ken France

As CEO of Blue Agility, Ken France helps develop and implement corporate strategy, identifies and secures key partnerships, provides executive level coaching for our clients, and works with and across all Blue Agility departments to ensure overall Client Success.

He has more than 22 years’ experience helping large-scale organizations adopt iterative and incremental development practices, such as RUP, Agile and SAFe. In his work at leading companies like IBM, Rational Software and Number Six Software, and now Blue Agility, he brings a pragmatic approach to the adoption of new practices. Ken is also an SPCT, the first in the US certified by Scaled Agile Academy (SAI) to deliver the Implementing SAFe 4.5 w SPC4 Certification courses. Much of his career has been spent directly coaching Agile teams and their management chain on how to drive the change necessary to become successful at the enterprise, while recognizing the uniqueness of each environment and what trade-offs need to be made to achieve that success.
