Reuben Garrett Lucius Goldberg (July 4, 1883 – December 7, 1970), known best as Rube Goldberg, was an American cartoonist, sculptor, author, engineer, and inventor.
He was also responsible for the game Mousetrap by game manufacturer Ideal and now a Hasbro product.
In his honor, every year there are regional Rube Goldberg contests. This year it is Turn off the Light.
