It is the 20th anniversary of what many consider to be the most influential book on Open Source Software OSS
It was 20 years ago that Eric Raymond's book first saw the light of day and influenced our future.

Local author Eric Raymond of Malvern has had views that are Libertarian and also helped inspire the Mozilla project.
Eric is also the author of The Cathedral and the Bazaar, and we salute this local legend and his unique vision became a makings of a book 20 years ago this month.
May 27, 1997 was when he proposed the Open Source model
at the Linux Kongress on May 27, 1997. He later expanded the essay into a book, The Cathedral and the Bazaar: Musings on Linux and Open Source by an Accidental Revolutionary, in 1999.
He is also author of The Hacker's Dictionary and The Jargon File.
