Our sister group SOFTWARE AS A CRAFT that meets downtown is having
Career Night in February
. . . but it is the same night as our AgilePhilly Meeting at Vanguard . . .
This isn't explicitly a networking event, but it will take advantage of the theme if you're looking for a career transition. Or even if you are not ready, understand the marketplace you are in.
Career Night at Software as Craft will involve a few Lightning Talks about career followed by short, small group discussions about the topics that you all will have a chance to vote on.
I'm looking for a couple of volunteers to give lightning talks at the begining of the night. We've got one talk lined up already from Tom Marks: The Jr, Mid, & Sr. The title: Anti-pattern: Using the Dreyfus Model of Skill Acquisition for more honest developer evaluation.
I would love to hear some of your ideas as well! If you are able to give a 10-minute lightning talk about career, please reach out on meetup!

At AgilePhilly, we have been Promoting Agile Ideas since 1776
AgilePhilly is a not-for-profit user group of volunteers in the Philadelphia area dedicated to better software development practices.
Meetings are monthly. Get meeting reminders by joining here.
Our attempt with the group is to provide an environment where you can exchange ideas and meet with individuals involved in agile community.
