Event Description

You’re a Fraud, and We All Know It: Work, Leadership, and Imposter Syndrome

Have you ever felt like you’re not as good at your job as you should be, or that you should know more than you do? Have you had the thought that you might not deserve your success, or that everyone is about to figure out you have no idea what you’re doing? You might be afflicted with imposter syndrome.

Even if you’re not, you’re spending time with people who are – it’s been estimated that as many as 70% of people experience imposter syndrome. It’s a pervasive phenomenon, and it’s impacting the way we work and lead – often negatively.

Presented by PANMA ( Phila Area New Media  Assoc )

Join Amanda Clark and Briana Morgan for a presentation, discussion, and actionable advice in their signature conversational style.

What You’ll Learn:
•What imposter syndrome is
•Who experiences it
•How it affects your work
•What it means for leaders
•How you can leverage it to your advantage

Presenters:
Briana Morgan is a health planner, writer, data geek, and tech enthusiast. So far, Briana has spoken about imposter syndrome at BarCamp Philly and ELA Conference, and written about it for Technically Philly. Briana is also a PANMA board member, co-organizer of Philly NetSquared, and co-creator of Rebel Public Health. She has been recognized for doing a good job by publications like Billy Penn and POZ Magazine, and it makes her mildly uncomfortable. You can read more about her work at brianalmorgan.com

Amanda Clark is a content strategist at Agency M in Old City Philadelphia. She is an organizer of BarCamp Philly, and convinced Briana to join her in talking about imposter syndrome at BarCamp Philly 2015. Amanda also helps plan Content Camp, is an avid writer on Yelp, a Clay Studio student and a social media manager for the Brotherly Love Pups. In her spare time, she helps friends and small businesses build beautiful, scalable websites. You can check out her story and work at amandajclark.com
