 T’s Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Dr. Thomas develops 
 systems approaches to safety. He assumes accidents and losses can be c
 aused not only by component failures but by unsafe interactions of sys
 tem components that have not failed.\r\n\r\nSelf-driving cars are a go
 od example of software-intensive, safety-critical systems. In this int
 eractive webinar, John will introduce us to Systems-Theoretic Process 
 Analysis (STPA), and we will collaboratively and interactively use the
  chat feature to analyze and identify test scenarios for a self-drivin
 g car.\r\n\r\nTesting obviously impacts safety, and STPA offers a new 
 way to identify test scenarios and workflows when we analyze complex s
 ystems. This approach can even take into account the human actions of 
 operators and users: it will suggest answers to questions about how we
  test for the critical decisions they make and will ensure they are re
 ceiving adequate feedback to make the correct decisions.\r\nSo join us
