SUMMARY:Impact Mapping for Outcomes
DESCRIPTION:Slides from the presentation is here\r\n\r\n\r\nLocation i
s Frontline Education in Malvern ( where we had the October 23rd Confe
rence)\r\nDirections http://goo.gl/maps/9aysu   (Due to Security pol
icies, RSVPs will close on MONDAY NOON prior to this meeting on Tuesda
 y Evening)\r\n \r\nDeborah Wyse presents Impact Mapping\r\n- You Had
Me At \"Why\" - Introduction to Impact Mapping\r\nAbstract:\r\nLearn
a visual, collaborative product planning approach that aligns the busi
ness and tech visions and highlights assumptions early. \r\nYou will
learn why you want to use it, who needs to be in the room, how it resp
onds to new information gained from inspection and adaptation and what
to include in the map's information hierarchy.\r\nTo conclude, we wil
l break into groups and create impact maps based upon a specific and m
easurable goal.\r\n\r\nBio: Deborah Wyse is an experience project mana
ger and newly minted CSM who is passionate about mission-driven techno
logy initiatives.  Active in Philadelphia's Women in Tech, Agile and
Dining for Women communities, she also enjoys tending her urban landsc
ape to maximize sustainability and delight.\r\nShe is a Project Manage
r with Communally.\r\nDeborah Wyse can be found at \r\n www.linkedin.c
om/in/deborahwyse\r\n\r\n\r\nMy take on Impact Mapping is that the WH
AT of What are we building? or WHAT are we trying to change – become
s secondary to the other questions of Why and Who and How.\r\n“There
are two key factors to consider for software delivery using impact ma
ps, and recognising the right context is crucial to get the most out o
f the method.\r\nThe two important dimensions are the consequences of
being wrong (making the the wrong product management decisions) and th
e ability to make investments.”\r\nBecause in the long run, we don
t deliver software - we deliver an impact on people.\r\nWe need clear
product definition before a big investment in time, people or money.
Because Project Cost is not Wage Cost.  Project Cost includes the c
ost of being late - or being wrong - or not including all risk costs.\

of a Haiku for the Meeting Placeholder ====-\r\nIf you have an apple a
nd I have an apple\r\nand we exchange apples, then you and I\r\nwill s
till each have one apple.\r\n\r\nBut if you have an idea and I have an
idea\r\nand we exchange these ideas, then each\r\nof us will have two
  ideas.\r\n- - George Bernard Shaw ( 1856 - 1950 )\r\n\r\n\"You can't
save time. You can only spend it, but you can spend it wisely or fooli
shly.\"\r\n- - Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh\r\n\r\nHaiku for the nig
