 ge middle school girls ages 11-14 to go into science, IT and engineeri
 ng careers.  It is one of nine finalists for a $200,000 grant from th
 e Philadelphia Foundation’s Key to Community Grants Program\r\nYou c

 Residents of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Delaware are eligi
 ble to vote. The top prize goes to the organization that gets the most
  votes.\r\n \r\nTechGirlz.org is working on a pilot program with the 
 National PTA to educate even more girls in the coming academic year wi
 th free after-school courses. In the 2017-2018 school year alone, 2,13
 4 girls in the Philadelphia region went to 144 workshops.\r\n\r\nIn so
 ftware and beyond, the skills encouraged include video game designers,
  graphic designers, QA testers, data scientists, database admins, cybe
 rsecurity experts, business analysts, network admins, project managers
 , social media managers, and front end developers.\r\n\r\nAlso note th
 at 2019 will be the first year in which women become a majority of the
  college-educated labor force. As of the first quarter of 2019, 29.5 m
 illion women in the labor force had at least a bachelor’s degree, ef
 fectively matching the number of college-educated men in the workforce
  (29.3 million), according to the Pew Research Center is when college
