the Statue of General Meade in Fair mount Park near the Please Touch Museum.  Suitable suggestions on how to commemorate this are encouraged, starting with signing the petitio n to move his statue to October 18th, 1887.\r\nAfter the dedication, the Fairmo unt Park Art Association held a gala at the Union League downtown with six hundred guests including General Meade’s West Point classmates, a number of his personal staff and aids, many who had served under hi m when he commanded the Army of the Potomac. \r\nMeade was a Philadel phia native and co-founder of Fairmount Park.  But General
