Event Description

Tom Gradel looks at Scott Ambler Surveys

Long time Agile Philly member Tom Gradel had " some pre-PhD research on Agile of some Scott Ambler survey data.  Tom is ready to release another survey and subsequent analysis to corroborate some findings from that and other studies.

Tom looked at the data that Scott has up on his website http://www.ambysoft.com/surveys/

It was a great chance for us at AgilePhilly to get insight to directions for the Agile industry as a whole.

Tom thanks all for being in the discussion on Tuesday

and asks if you will review and critique his survey  here:

Remember, Scott Ambler comes to Downtown Philadelphia to have a chat with anyone who shows up on Monday April 11th at the Olde City Sheraton.  Tom's talk is a perfect lead–up to Scott's coming to town.

Description

Tom presented a model for interaction of Agile processes that affect project success. We learned about the parts of Agile that are effective, and how the various different techniques create synergies to contribute to successful projects. The critical factors that affect Agile were summarized and a modern theoretical model was presented.

Presenter

He also spent more than 6 years as development manager of medical devices at Olympus Medical exploring use of Agile in an FDA regulated environment.

His relevant papers include:

A PLS Modeling Approach for Analysis of Survey Data Examining Adoption of Agile Software Engineering, Gradel and Nosek, PLS Application Symposium, 2015
