Committed to helping members build better software

I'm looking at training for Scrum Masters, and noticing that different training programs lead to different scrum certifications.  I believe the most popular are:

1.Scrum.org — Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
2.Scrum Alliance — Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
3.Project Management Institute — Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP)

Does anyone have an opinion on which is most valuable or widely accepted or best?

Thank you.

Hi Tim,

The CSM Is the worlds first agile certification and still highly respected. The CSM is from the Scrum Alliance, a not for profit, and they vet and approve trainers. The CSM is popular and respected in the agile community.

The ACP is like a CSM but with additional depth into other areas. The PMI does not approve trainers to deliver the ACP so you may, or may not, get an experienced trainer.

The PSM is from Scrum.org, which is for profit. There is vetting of trainers but not to the extent that the Scrum Alliance does.

With all of that, I am a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and I deliver the CSM. I also participated in the creation of the body of knowledge for the first PMI ACP Exam. So please consider that.

Excellent.   Thank you!
